Mark 1:17-18

Jesus said to them, "Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men." Then they left their nets and followed him.

When Simon and Andrew woke up in the morning, they were probably simply hoping for a good day of fishing. As they worked, minding their own business, Jesus called to them. Life changed for them in a dramatic way. As he began to go about the work of his Father, Jesus gathered people to share in his mission. Jesus calls to us just as he did to Simon and Andrew. We are called to work with others to bring God's love into the world.

Jesus, you gathered ordinary people to share in your work. Help me respond more directly to the prompting of your Spirit. Thank you for calling me into a relationship with you and your Father.
