Breathing in and out slowly, come to rest in the Lord. Allow all else to fade for just a little while. Allow the Spirit of God to fill you.
Luke 13:5
"But I tell you, if you do not repent, you will all perish as they did!"
To perish, to be lost forever, is not a pleasant thought on which to dwell. It is better to repent, to be contrite, so that you can come to a place of starting anew. In the deepest part of ourselves we know there is no other way to change. To repent is much more than saying "I'm sorry." It is the profound understanding that we must conform our lives to the Gospel, or be lost forever.
What consequences of not repenting have you experienced?
Tomorrow is not yet; yesterday is gone; now is all you have. What might stop you from repenting and changing today?
(Pray using this prayer or one of your own.)
My God, I have forsaken you. My spirit longs for wholeness. My spirit longs for you. Grace me with all that I need for union with you. For in you are strength, courage, wisdom, and peace.
