As you begin your retreat, pause for a few moments and allow yourself to grow still. Let go of any distracting thoughts. Take several slow, deep breaths. Become aware of God's unconditional love for you.
Acts of the Apostles 9:33-34
Acts of the Apostles 9:33-34There he found a man named Aeneas, who had been confined to bed for eight years, for he was paralyzed. Peter said to him, "Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and make your bed." He got up at once.
Peter heals in the name of Jesus and commands the man he healed to get up and get on with his life. It is Jesus who heals us. Through his grace we, like Peter, are able to bring the comfort and healing power of Jesus to others. We are at one and the same time both the one healed and the one who brings about healing.
When have I experienced the healing grace of Jesus in my life?
Whom is God nudging me to heal in Christ's name?
(Speak to Jesus, using this prayer or one of your own.)
Jesus, healer and teacher, thank you for the way your Spirit moves in me. Help me to be your voice, your hands, and your touch to those I meet each day.
