Take a few moments to come to a place of quiet within yourself. Focus on your breathing. Gradually become aware of the presence of God, who gives you all you need.
Deuteronomy 6:4-5
"Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD alone! Therefore, you shall love the LORD, your God, with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength."
When a child is born, parents are overcome with the awesomeness of new life. They discover a depth of love that they never knew existed, a love that consumes their entire being. This is but a fraction of the love God has for us and of the love we should have for God in return. This kind of love begets wholeness.
In what ways is my love of the Father God conditional?
When, if ever, has my love for God consumed me?
(Pray, using these words or your own.)
Loving God, may my being be filled with you. Thank you for your love, ever-present, ever-strong, ever-consuming.
