Before beginning, pause for a few moments and focus on your breathing. Take several deep breaths. Remember that you are in the loving presence of God.
1 Corinthians 6:19
Do you not know that your body is a temple of the holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?
This body I live in is a temple. What an awesome thought that is! When I look at the temple that is my body, what does it tell me about my purpose in life? What does it tell others about who I am and what I stand for? My body is a temple in which the Spirit of God dwells. I do not belong to myself and do not have ultimate control. None of us do. Every day we're invited to a deeper realization that our lives, all life, is sacred, because the Creator of all life made us and dwells within us.
How aware am I of the sacredness of my life, all life?
What can I do differently today to remind myself that I am a temple of the Holy Spirit?
(Speak to God, using this prayer or a prayer of your own.)
God of all Creation, you fill the earth with your Spirit and make everything holy. Grant me the grace to grow in awareness of my personal dignity and to offer others the respect they deserve.
