Take a few moments to quiet yourself within. Focus on your breathing and become present to God, who takes great joy in you.
John 15:10-12
If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy might be in you and your joy might be complete. This is my commandment: love one another as I love you.
Keeping God's commandments keeps us in good or right relationship with God and others. By being in right relationship, we can be more open to the love of God and want to share it with others. We know how out of sorts and cut off we can feel when sin comes between us and others. Being in right relationship with God and with others truly is a source of joy. For Jesus, the source of his joy is the relationship he has with the Father and that he wants that kind of joy for us. It is as simple as loving others as Jesus loves us.
Can I be open to being filled with the joy that Jesus wants for me?
What keeps me from more faithfully loving others as Jesus loves me?
(Pray to Jesus, using these words or your own.)
Jesus, I want to live in the joy of right relationship with you. Give me the grace to accept your love and to love others as you love me.
