Pause for a few moments and turn your focus inward. Take a few deep breaths, rest, and recognize that you are in the loving presence of God, who is with you as you continue to grow and love him.
John 14:7
If you know me, then you will also know my Father.
It is often difficult to trust someone whom you don't know very well. We are blessed not to have this problem when it comes to trusting God. Jesus reveals to us who God is. He teaches us that God is our loving Father who created us and loves us. When we trust someone, we can talk freely and rely on their advice. The same is true of God. In prayer we are brought into communion with God who helps us to understand ourselves. Praying to God helps us to have a humble and trusting heart.
What am I doing to get to know Jesus better so that I can come to know the Father better?
What does it mean to me to know that I can place my trust in the Father?
(Reverently pray the prayer that Jesus taught us.)
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
