Before you begin your retreat, sit quietly and open your heart to God's message for you. When you are ready, begin.
Galatians 5:22-23
In contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
God has given us the gift of free will, which allows us to choose to accept or reject God's love and his plan for us. Too often when temptation occurs, we can make the wrong choices. The gift of the Holy Spirit in our lives offers us the help to make good decisions that deepen our relationship with God and others. When we call on the Holy Spirit to help us, we make better decisions and the Fruits of the Holy Spirit become visible in our lives.
In what way does the Holy Spirit prompt me to respond more fully to God's plan for my life?
What help do I need to see what that plan is?
(Speak to God, using this prayer or one of your own.)
Spirit of God, fill me with your wisdom that I might more readily recognize your presence. Strengthen me to heed your movement in my life that I may experience deeper joy.
