Take some time as you begin your retreat to pause for a few moments and turn your focus inward. Be aware of the presence of God, who is with you as you prepare once again to respond to the call to proclaim the Good News of Jesus.
Psalm 34:14-15
Keep your tongue from evil, your lips from speaking lies. Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
Leading a moral life is not just a matter of what we don't do; it also involves what we choose to do. Resisting evil is a part of living a moral life, but so is seeking to do good. Jesus teaches us that we serve the Kingdom of God by our words and actions. Every day we are called to serve the Kingdom of God and to be witnesses for Christ in other situations. Nurtured by the grace of the sacraments, we will continue to grow in God's grace for the service of others.
How have I been enriched in my understanding and practice of the faith?
How can I be a witness for Christ in my life today?
(Speak to God, using these words or others that come to mind.)
God of mercy, love, and justice, thank you for your work of grace in my life.
