Take a few moments to quiet yourself, setting aside all that distracts you. Breathing deeply, come to rest in God's loving presence.
Mark 10:52
Jesus told him, "Go your way; your faith has saved you." Immediately he received his sight and followed him on the way.
Imagine being blind-the darkness, the isolation, and dependence on others. Imagine then the spark of hope when Bartimaeus heard about Jesus. In a brief exchange, Bartimaeus' sight was restored. What was dark was now light, isolation became connection, and Bartimaeus was free of the dependence he had lived with. Jesus attributed Bartimaeus' healing to his faith. Throughout his ministry Jesus insisted on the importance of faith. We are challenged to see with the eyes of faith. Faith recognizes the light of Jesus' presence and provides freedom from all that blinds us. Faith, touched by the gentleness of the Lord, allows us to follow Jesus on the way.
How have I experienced Jesus' healing touch in my life?
How have these experiences freed me to be a source of healing for others?
(Pray to Jesus, using these words or words of your own.)
Jesus, your healing brings life. Give me the grace to see the places in my life most in need of your healing touch so that I may be made whole.
