Take a few moments to come to stillness. Take several slow, deep breaths. Remember that God is with you.
John 10:30
"The Father and I are one."
Imagine the impact when Jesus spoke those words. The people that had gathered were confused, and they accused Jesus of equating himself with God. Yet on more than one occasion, Jesus professes his unity with the Father. Throughout the Gospels, the power behind Jesus' words and deeds is the strength of his relationship with the Father. Living as a disciple of Jesus and being open to the Holy Spirit, we develop a deeper relationship with God and learn to recognize what God can do in us through us.
When you pray, how do you imagine God?
How does that image assist or hinder your prayer?
(In these or similar words, pray to God.)
God, Father, Son, and Spirit, you are the relationship I desire. Help me to know the power of that relationship in my own life so that all I do may give you praise.
