As you begin your retreat, pause and quiet your thoughts. Take three deep breaths. Reflect on the beauty and sacredness of all creation-all life, each person. Thank God for his gift of family and friends.
Psalm 8:6-7
Yet you have made them little less than a god, crowned them with glory and honor.You have given them to rule over the works of your hands, put all things at their feet.
Some people live as though the world exists only for them and for their individual consumption. This attitude is contrary to what it means to follow Jesus. Our dignity as a human person is a blessing from God who created us. This is linked to our responsibility to care for all of creation. Our respect for God, each other, and creation is shown by the choices we make. When deciding what actions to take today, we must consider how our choices affect the future.
