Before you begin, pause for a moment. Take several deep breaths and allow yourself to grow still. Be aware of God's loving presence within you.
1 Timothy 1:18-19
Through them may you fight a good fight by having faith and a good conscience. Some, by rejecting conscience, have made a shipwreck of their faith.
Much of St. Paul's writing focused on living life in a way that gave witness to a belief in Christ Jesus through every word and deed. In other words, the way we live must reflect the faith we proclaim. And in order to reflect our faith in our daily lives, we must invest in and listen to our conscience. To speak the words of faith and yet reject the guidance of conscience is to invite disaster.
How has my faith blessed me?
In what ways has my conscience influenced the decisions that I have made recently?
(Speak to Jesus, using the words of this prayer or a prayer of your own.)
Lord, I turn to you in gratitude for the grace of faith in my life. Grounded in your love, give me the courage to obey the judgment of my conscience, so that I may give glory and honor to you in everything I do.
