Take a few moments to bring yourself to a quiet place within. Breathe slowly and allow God, who knows what you need, to fill you.
1 Peter 4:11
Whoever preaches, let it be with the words of God; whoever serves, let it be with the strength that God supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
This is the key. We must be rooted, and open ourselves to be nourished by those very words. We know that the work of sharing and giving witness to our faith takes energy, both physical and spiritual. Peter's words remind us that God will supply the strength we need to do God's work. In prayer we can ask for this strength and know that God will provide.
In what particular way do I need God's strength in my life at this time?
For what do I want to give glory to God this day?
(Pray, using this prayer or words of your own.)
Loving God, I give praise to you this day for all the ways your Word and truth gift my life. Strengthen me so that all I do in word and action may give glory to you.
