Pause for a moment. Breathe slowly and deeply. Allow yourself to grow still. Be aware of the presence of God, who responds to you with love and compassion.
Acts of the Apostles 9:18-19
He got up and was baptized, and when he had eaten, he recovered his strength.
Paul's personal encounter with Jesus Christ was a life-changing event. Ministered to by Ananias and filled with the Holy Spirit, he was forever transformed. The sacraments are our personal encounters with Christ. In Baptism we die with Christ and are raised up from the waters of life, sealed with the Holy Spirit, to live our lives in Christ Jesus. Invited into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, how can we respond with anything less than Paul's zeal and enthusiasm?
How have my encounters with Christ in the sacraments changed my life and my relationships with others?
How would someone, from observing my actions, know that I am a follower of Christ?
(Speak to Jesus, using these words or words of your own.)
Jesus, Savior of the world, you call each of us to know you. Open my heart so that I may know your gift in my life and be filled with zeal for your mission.
