Before you begin, pause for a moment. Take several deep breaths and allow yourself to grow still. Be aware of God's loving presence within you.
2 Corinthians 13:8
For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth.
This passage is part of a longer piece in which St. Paul admonishes the early community at Corinth to seek the Christ who is in them. Knowledge of Christ will be their strength to avoid evil and to give witness to their faith. The heart of one who is convinced of God's love for him or her will seek good and truth. Following the commandments is our response to what we are convinced of in our heart of hearts-God's love for us and salvation through Christ Jesus.
Whose faith has been a source of inspiration for me?
What convinces me of God's love for me? How am I being moved to be a source of inspiration for others?
(Speak to Jesus, using the words of this prayer or a prayer of your own.)
Jesus, Lord and Savior, be with me in my weakness and strengthen me to bear witness to your love in all that I do.
