Building the Domestic Church

To identify ways that each individual can help to build the domestic church

The children will be able to describe how, within our families, we form a domestic church.

• Drawing paper
• Markers, colored pencils, and pens

• Distribute paper, markers, colored pencils, and pens.
• Instruct the children to write the names of all those in their family in a way that the names form a shape such as a circle, a star, a triangle, or even the shape of a house.
• The shape should be large enough to accommodate small drawings or written phrases highlighting how each child will build the domestic church (strengthen their family).
• Encourage the children to share their work with their families.

Art/Space Smart

First, middle, and last names may make it easier for the children to create their desired shapes.

It may be necessary to pair children with peers who can offer assistance.
